Projects.
Here gives a rundown of what I'm currently working on and what projects I've completed.

Love The Way You Love
Ongoing series.
Written by Jamie S. Rich.
Published by Oni Press.
A romantic comedy/drama series about falling in love and musical ambition, Love The Way continues the story of Like A Dog lead vocalist, Tristan Scott who last appeared in Rich's novel "Cut My Hair," and starts with him coming back from getting his heart stamped on by a girl he went out on a whim for. But who's this stunning girl that he bumps into at the airport and again at his band's gig that night? Who's that smarmy guy with her and why is he so interested in Tristan? Will Tristan succeed in getting the girl and getting his band signed or does one have to budge for the other to happen? LTWYL is presented in a Manga digest format clocking in at 64 pages an issue and is out every three months. Issue One comes out in June 2006 and Issues Two and Three are out September and December, respectively.
This is the first major project for me to draw and although I guess it's taken some people by surprise (considering my own autobiographical comic background) I'm having a lot of fun on it.

Reviews:
Focused Totally with Mark Fossen
"Marc Ellerby's art is wonderful, almost a streamlined Matt Groening, and he is able to swing back and forth from comedy to romance on a dime. Excellent stuff."
Comics Waiting Room
"LOVE THE WAY YOU LOVE reads like… well, it reads just like a Jamie S. Rich story. Rich has long been comics’ hippest and slyest cat, with a knowledge of music matched by few. His novel work, like CUT MY HAIR, demonstrates his mastery of this sort of tale, so you’d expect no less than a comic that not only has a twinge of real heart to it, but also makes you feel like the coolest kid in the room for reading it."
IComics.com with Greg McElhatton
"Love The Way You Love has a nice sense of humor about it, and Ellerby really brings that to life as well, from the little visual jokes in the corners of the panel to being able to have some of the funniest expressions I've seen in a while. By the time I was done with the comic, I knew this was a good pairing of writer and artist."

Ten page, black and white short story which appeared in Put The Book Back On The Shelf: The Belle and Sebastian Anthology.
Written by Jamie S. Rich.
Published by Image Comics.
Winner of comic with the longest title of 2006, Image's Put the Book... garnered a hell of a lot of attention when it was released, it also took a lot of people in the comic industry by surprise. Gary Groth of Fantagraphics said "I can't decide if that makes me like Image more or Belle & Sebastian less," as, well, the home of Spawn and Tomb Raider comics isn't exactly the first company you think would be suited in handling stories based on B&S songs. Image have always had a history with solid creator owned stories and their current output is more varied than it's ever been. The brain child of Eric Stephenson, Put The Book... sees a variety of indy comic's finest tackle a different song by the Scottish band. Featuring amongst others; Andi Watson, Ande Parks, Dave Crosland, Paul Maybury and Catia Chen.
This was also the first time myself and Mister Rich collaborated on a project together and I was handpicked for art duties, which was nice. It was drawn in October 2005 and published in March 2006 and it's already into it's second printing. Stuart Murdoch quite likes it, or so I'm told.

Ongoing Postcard Project.
In 2005 I got about a 1000 postcards printed up for my Degree Show Exhibition and I found a few months later I still had a huge amount left over. So I started the postcard project as a way to get my art out to new people by posting a message on my livejournal which read "First 12 people to reply to this message get a free postcard with an inked sketch on the back!" It went quite well and they were all snapped up in under an hour. I drew the postcards, sent them off and then a few months later done the same thing on my Myspace. I'm going to continue to do this although now I might try it on various message boards. I only do lots of 12 because a pack of 12 Second Class Stamps aren't that expensive.
